Stephen Doster

Stephen has been described as one of Austin’s most ubiquitous musicians. He has appeared on recordings, stage, and television with such talents as Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett, Mark O’Connor, Bill Carter, and Will Sexton. As a songwriter, his songs have been recorded by Dr. John, Willie Nelson, Double Trouble, Storyville, and many others. In 2012, Stephen served as a cultural ambassador for the United States Department of State in Swaziland, Africa. He is the President and Founder of Guitars for Swaziland. Stephen currently resides in Blanco, Texas.

Greg Engle

Composing and performing music from an early age, Greg Engle’s formal career has been in diplomacy, development and education. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Korea in the early 1908’s and most recently Peace Corps Country Director in Ethiopia. In between, he spent 26 years as a diplomat, with assignments in Pakistan, Germany, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Malawi, South Africa, Togo(where he was the U.S. ambassador) and Iraq. Greg has also taught courses at the University of Texas. He now devotes his time to music, and was the winner of the Woody Guthrie Festival songwriting competition in 2011. His songs havebeen played on NPR and folk radio programs around the country. With his colleague Stephen Doster, he has performed and conducted songwriting workshops in Swaziland, Lesotho and Mauritania under the U.S. Department of State’s Arts Envoy program.

Chad Goddard

Chad is a real estate appraiser in Austin, Texas. Chad is a Member Appraisal Institute (MAI), State of Texas Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, and State of Texas Broker. He graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. Chad is the Treasurer and serves on the Board of Directors for Guitars for Swaziland.

Daniel Roark

Daniel is an attorney residing in Austin, Texas. He holds both his BA and JD from the University of Texas at Austin. Daniel is also an alumnus of Teach For America. He serves as a Board Member of Guitars for Swaziland and oversees legal operations for the organization.

Darcie Jane Fromholz

Darcie is the wine buyer for Wink Restaurant, but her love of music can be traced, not only through her father, Texas Poet Laureate Stephen Fromholz, but through her years as a cocktail waitress at Antones’ Blues Club in the 80’s and 90’s, as a former staff member of SXSW, a ten-year production veteran of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and, most importantly, a true fan of great music. Darcie serves on the Board of Directors for Guitars for Swaziland.

Nancy Coplin

In 1988, Nancy was appointed by Austin City Council to the newly formed Austin Music Commission and was elected the first Chair. Currently, she is Music Coordinator at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. She produces 23 live music performances a week and programs the airport intercom. She also books the iconic Armadillo Christmas Bazaar and other events in Austin, Texas. Nancy serves on the Board of Directors for Guitars for Swaziland.

Redd Volkaert

Redd is an internationally acclaimed guitarist and musician who has shared the stage with Merle Haggard, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton and countless other legends. Among his many credits, Volkaert won a 2009 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. Born in Canada, Redd is currently a resident of Austin, Texas and serves on the Board of Directors for Guitars for Swaziland.
